Ageing Gracefully retreat
Goodnestone Park, Goodnestone, Kent

This retreat offers you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of your body and your relationship with a changing life from two different yet complementary perspectives: the medical and the energetic.

A retreat for women over 40

It is time to listen to our inner knowing

As women we start to change in the run-up and during our menopausal years and it is important to us that we age in a physically healthy and emotionally balanced way. Though I am at the beginning stages of this unfolding, I work with many women of all ages and I love the raw wildness of change and the discerning quality that is refining within woman as the body starts to change and re-direct its inner focus.

It is time for us to know and say yes to what we need, we have to take life’s nourishment, it is time to listen to our inner knowing as we can no longer avoid its voice! I will be bringing to this retreat what I have found to work for a changing sexual appetite, how to stay vital in our sensual energy, set goals, take rest and play.

Introduction

I’m delighted to team up with Sophie Benge, and other expert women over a long weekend in a private country house in Goodnestone to create the art of ‘ageing gracefully’.

This retreat offers you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of your body and your relationship with a changing life from two different yet complementary perspectives: the medical and the energetic.

The result: wherever you are on this very individual journey, you can age gracefully, without losing it! In other words, manage night sweats and mood swings and boost self-compassion and sexual magnetism.

Myself and expert Dr Annie Neill will guide you through the biological and emotional minefield of our changing wisdom over a long weekend.

Jackie McCusker is a nutritional therapist in private and GP practice, Jackie emphasises vitality and healthy ageing through diet, lifestyle, testing and supplementation.

Poala Ferretti-Johnson is a qualified Pilates instructor and teacher of The Feldenkrais Method and Awareness Through Movement (ATM) who will encourage new possibilities that foster physical change and greater vitality and emotional wellbeing.

Susan Winchester is a sound therapist, using gongs, drums, crystal bowls, tuning forks and Himalayan bowls, to heal.

The Programme

THE PROGRAMME

Each day starts with a nature walk or Feldenkrais with Sophie or Paola.

After breakfast spend each of the three mornings in a group workshop alternating between Kalindi, Annie and Jackie.

Annie shares her medical expertise and information around hormone replacement therapy and self-care in mid-life.

Kalindi takes you through a mix of ideas, meditations, movement and breathing to tap into, play with and fully live the magic of your female body.

Jackie shares details on our body systems and advice on eating to support your hormones and energy levels.

During the afternoons Annie and Kalindi are available to chat.

You’re welcome to book a Functional Integration Feldenkrais treatment with Paola or a ‘sound’ face or body massage with Susan.

There will be time to wander around the beautiful estate and relax in the design-led elegance of Goodnestone.

Before supper we will have an open discussion one day and twilight walk with an enchanted experience on the other.

After supper, it’s time to wind down with a sound bath with Susan or enjoy fun, female ‘play’ to further connect with your ‘goddess’ self.

The Place

Goodnestone Park is a privately-owned stately home in Kent and guardian of the oldest cedar tree in England. I’ve chosen it for its elegant interiors, chic detailing, sumptuous bedrooms and beautiful nature. The recently-renovated house is a fine example of Queen Anne architecture; it’s been in the same aristocratic family for 300 years and used to welcome Jane Austen as a regular visitor. It’s a luxurious escape in ancient woodland that touches all the senses.
